Mrs. Priss over at the RHOK is in the driver's seat for MckLinky today and she's asking for your best crock pot recipes.
I, for one, am all about the mighty crock pot!
I LOVE my crock pot!
I NEED my crock pot!
I'd marry my crock pot, if it weren't a little weird and kinda ridiculous!
Here's a new crock pot recipe that I tried this weekend that gave THE hunter cause to say,
"Baby don't take this the wrong way,
but this is by far the best thing you've ever cooked!"
I can't decide if this makes me happy or
kinda put out that after almost 3 years of marriage this soup is the best I can do. Huh.
Anywho, here it is:
Sausage and Kale Soup (the crock pot version)
3/4 cup chopped onion (I like onions so I used 1 cup)
2 minced garlic cloves (I really really like garlic so I used 4 cloves)
2 cans reduced-sodium chicken broth (think healthy here)
2 cubed large potatoes
salt and pepper to taste
1 bunch of kale, trimmed and chopped
1 can white kidney beans
1/2 pound sliced reduced fat, pre-cooked turkey sausage
Throw it all in the crock pot, on low until the taters are soft.
Bowl it and listen to the appreciative "mmmmmm's"!!!
It's healthy! I think it figures up to be under 200 calories per bowl!!!!
So share your favorite crock pot recipes and check out the girls over at the RHOK for more!

Thank you for linking up with us again, Amy! We love you and appreciate you being our cheerleader. =)
This recipe sounds delicious. I'm pretty sure Courtney would eat it with me, but my other two would not. :(
I'm going to save it and give it a try. Courtney and I are needing to eat healthier and this would definitely help! =)
My hubby would love this one as well. It's manly yet healthy - awesome!
As Dawn said, thanks for linking up with the RHOK today! Happy Monday!
I love your excitement regarding the crock pot! This soup does sound yummy- thanks for the recipe!
Sounds good and love that it's healthy too!
I've actually never tried Kale! *gasp* Maybe I'll try this. What does it taste like? Can you compare it to something?
Why do I keep hearing about kale lately? I have never tried it but obviously I need to - and this soup is the perfect one to start with. I can see why the hunter liked it. It's all sorts of manly. The Doc/soup hater will like it too.
