Nada

This is really just a post to say that I have nothing new to post. I'm still wallowing in my lack of sewing machine-ness. My brother must have really done a number of my poor machine for it to take this long! There had better not be any more boy hands touching my sewing machine once I finally have it back in my possesion! I would really like to be working on new projects, but alas, nada......someday.......

Auntie Em...A Twister! A Twister!

All my childhood memories of watching The Wizard of Oz were very nearly brought to life last night! Instead of being at home with my family, all safe and sound, where was I???? At Zumba.....on the complete opposite side of town! I was just waiting for the flying monkeys to go zooming by! I even heard that my poor friend, Calianna, was made to take cover in the walk-in freezer of a Panera Bread! Just think of all the yumminess to be surrounded by! Is it bad that not only was I concerned for my safety on getting home, but even more concerned that a tornado would hit the house and my fabric stash would be gone with the wind?! Scarlett would have nothing on me!

Mental Health Weekend

I have no idea what was wrong with me, but when I woke up Saturday morning I felt like nothing was going right and (literally) everything made me cry! It was like I was pregnant all over again with the crazy boo hoo hormones! My awesome husband was wise enough (or maybe scared enough) to volunteer his child observing services for a much needed Mommy-away Day!

I called My BFF Calianna and sobbed that we needed to go shopping without anyone with testosterone in their bodies...AKA NO BOYS!!!!! We went all over Tulsa just talking and shopping and enjoying a boy-free afternoon! I bought some fabulous Christmas themed fabric to make my mom a Christmas quilt (if I ever get my sewing machine back) and also bought the first block in a block of the month named Garden Patch Cats! The first one I am now the proud owner of is PumpKat, which is an orange beast in the shape of a pumpkin!!!! I love it! I'm not sure which beast is next but I'm really hoping for the Caulipuss (cauliflower) or the Podcats (peas)!!!

My mental health is now saved thanks to the Husbeast and the Calianna! Now if I just had that stinkin' sewing machine!!!!!!!

More with the blasted sewing machine.....

Saturday I took my "new" sewing machine into the repair shop to be brought back to life....had no clue how much it costs to have your machine serviced! Yikes!!!! My brother, Steven, had better start saving all his pennies to pay for this little oops! All to fix a stinkin hole in his jeans!!!

On a much happier note: I lost two pounds since last week, so I decided to celebrate by having a donut! I'm rational like that!

The Sewing Machine Sabotage

Still no pictures posted to my blog.... sigh! Why no progression? Here's why: Last Friday I walked into my parents house to find my mother, my brother, and my brother's friend sitting at the dining room table ( nobody sits at the dining room table unless only be permission and only on very specific holidays!) frowing and mumbling at my new sewing machine. Panic has now set into my entire being. As calmly as humanly possible I say, "WHAT ARE YOU DOING WITH MY NEW SEWING MACHINE???!!!!" They all look at me and sheepishly, my brother relplies, "I was trying to sew up the hole in my jeans and now your machine won't work. " Response: "My new sewing machine that I haven't even used yet, is 'not working'?!"

So, beacuse of such craziness, there has been no progression on any quilts and I am very perturbed by this. I truely think this is why I currently have a sinus infection: my head could no longer handle all the steam coming from my brain and ears and has thus invaded my sinuses and infected. Dr. Galutia says it's just from the weather but I think it's because of the sewing machine breakage!
