halloween at work

I just had to share this with ya'll! The girls and I dressed up like the 3 Little Pigs for Halloween!
Krystal (left) had straw, I had brick, and Jamie (right) had sticks!
Our houses are safe though, because the Wolf (Mike, the boss) is at the Notre Dame football game out of state!
We had pink sweats, homemade felt ears on headbands, pig noses, and pink pipe cleaner curly tales!
How cute are we!!!!

Royal Mail

Guess what I found when I got home last Friday????

Yes! I got mail....from Sue!!! My fabulous friend Sue (quilttimes.blogspot.com - yes, I still don't know how to do the direct link thing) from England! If you don't know her blog, you are sadly missing out! I've never had international mail before! I'm so excited!!! (and, yes, those are THE hunter's huntin' boots.....love hunting season, sigh)

Isn't it fabulous! She sent mail not only to me, but also sent sugar for THE hunter (husband) and MY Hunter (boy-child)! Isn't she the sweetest!?

The note inside was so sweet and I love love love the cathedral window pincushion! How did she know it was my favorite pattern!?

Now, what to send back? Possibilities are endless........

I'm also sharing pictures of some of my favorite quilts from last weekend's Claremore Quilt Show that my Mom and I went to. Just a few, because there were just sooooo many pretty ones! I feel all inspired like!

This was one of my favorites...and a close up of the pretty detailing!

A pretty Christmas stained glass tree skirt and table runner.

Another pretty stained glass piece. Can you tell I'm lovin the stained glass?!

I loved this yellow and red one too. No ribbon for this one though :(

Lovin the fall one!

This was the raffle quilt (that I really really wanted...but didn't win)!
It was so colorful and lovely!

I bought this stunning little winter tree kit! I can't wait to work on this.......along with all the other projects!I also bought the panel of the Tale of Two Kitties! Who knows what I'll do with that, but somethings you just "have" to have!!!

So, really, a good time was had by all! After the quilt show, we took MY Hunter to Bass Pro in Broken Arrow to have his picture taken. Look how stinkin cute he is!

Serious

Everytime I look at this picture of my dad and Hunter, I just crack up. Something about the serious expressions on both of their faces just does me in!
Everyone have a great fall-ish weekend!

Celebrating

I have exciting news girls! I'm under my pre-Hunter baby weight! Yay!

So I'm celebrating......... with cake!

Just wanted to share the news! All thanks should be directed to my
Workout Nazi, Krystal. It's her fault! But I thank her regardless, even if she brings me cake to celebrate (she'll make sure and sweat it out of me later)!

I'm Not Lost, Just Busy!

I guess I didn't realize how long it had been since I had last posted because questions were being raised as to "where are you and what have you been up to?" It actually kinda makes me feel all warm and tingly that there's people out there that notice when I go absent!

Remember the question I posed recently about making a baby blanket for my husband's cousin in the Pure or the Lollipop? Well, everyone picked Lollipop making it pretty unanimous, so I bought 2 charm packs, sewed them into 9 patches and then proceeded to cut them all up to make a disappearing 9 patch out of them.....not lovin' it. Not to mention the hus-beast doesn't think that his country cousin will like the Lollipop....."They're more John Deere sorta people, hunny." Great. Time to regroup.

Went to Hobby Lobby Friday and bought the most child friendly John Deere looking fabric I could find and some navy solid for the backing. Sewed the stinkin' thing Friday night, finished the blanket stitch on the yellow binding last night, and need to make a label with a tractor on it to slap on the back by Friday when we wrap it up and take it to his cousin's house for her to open at the baby shower on Saturday. I can't go because I'm going to a craft festival in Rogers, Arkansas with a friend that was planned months ago.

News on the babysitter front: I (thankfully) found one for Poo Poo Friday evening. She was the last one on the list to interview, so it's great that she passed the Poo Poo test :) She was the only one we interviewed who actually got down on the floor and played with him...or even acknowledged him for that matter! It's getting harder and harder to leave him in the morning and go to work though. Until I can stay home with him, at least he's with a great caregiver!

With all this hullabaloo goin' on, I haven't even had a change to work on my Christmas log cabin! I've decided that I am anti-UFO. I am not a half-finish, then-work-on-something-else kinda girl. Chalk it up to me being anal, I'm sure! Maybe I can work on the loggious cabinous on Sunday! I NEED this quilt to be finished! It bothers me! :)

Double Digits & VeggieTales

I am lovin' bein' in the double digits these days, ya'll!

1. The temperature outside (thank heavens) is stayin' consistently in the.....double digits

2. I have two wonderful men in my house....double digits (not really double digits, but there are two of them and they made messes big enough to equal double digits, so it counts!)

3. AND, I have now reached a whole 10 followers on my blog!.....double digits!!!!!! You know, when I started this blog it was just a way to release my inner newbie quilter frustrations...but now I have "met" the most wonderful quilty friends! Ya'll are just the best!

P.S. I know you've been waitin' to see my Christmas log cabin quilt, and I promise I'll work on it this weekend, but my favorite mom is getting an awesome new Bernina next week will all kinds of fancy stitches on it and I was wantin' to use one for my binding....oh I hate the binding! So maybe I'll get all of it but the fancy stitched binding and show ya'll next week, what do you think?!
P.S.S. Random Thought: For all of you out there in blogland who are familiar with VeggieTales and the random silly songs they sing, like: the Bunny Song "The Bunny, the Bunny, oh I love the Bunny..." Don'tcha think they should make one for quilters: "The Binding, the Binding, oh I hate the Binding!" I think it would totally catch on!
