A Twister A Twister!

In the aftermath of all the deadly tornado outbreaks in Oklahoma last night, I've said many prayers for the families and friends of all the victims of these violent tornadoes ripping through our area of the country.

First with Mississippi.
Then with Missouri.
Then last night with the ones here in Oklahoma that travelled up to Kansas, Missouri and Arkansas.

My heart broke when I heard the news story this morning of the mother down around the Oklahoma City area who's home was hit by a tornado. She has three kids: the 5-month-old son died, the 5-year-old sister is in the hospital in critical condition, and the 3-year-old son is missing....and she's pregnant.

As a mother, my heart goes out to her in this incredibly horrible time. I can't even begin to imagine having to live through that.

As Oklahomans, we are used to the Spring dangers of living in Tornado Alley, but we never become use to the death and destruction that accompanies them.

For everyone who has lost their home, family, pets, vehicles, business, and personal possessions, our thoughts and prayers are with you!

This is my little haul from this morning.
I went to Walgreens and this is what I came out with.

I literally only spent $14.08 on this when I would have spent $27.26 plus tax!

I know it doesn't sound like a whole lot, but that's a 50% savings! If you could save half on every trip, think of all the money you'd save!

Example using today's trip:
Purex detergent: $5.99 and B0G0 (wish I had a coupon for that one)
Carefree pantyliners: on sale for $0.99 - Walgreens in ad coupon for $0.99 off = FREE!!!!
Huggies Little Swimmers: on sale for $6.99 - Walgreens coupon for $2.00 off + manufacture coupon for $1.00 off = $3.99!!!!!
Jello: Walgreens in ad coupon for up to 3 at $0.59 each!

See, I know it's only a couple of things, but it's stuff I needed and I essentially got it all for half off! I even made a trip to Homeland last weekend and saved almost 50%!

It's when you look at how much money you're saving that makes using coupons and watching the sale paper so worth it!

Shame Shame Baby Game

The makers of the baby formula, Enfamil, Mead Johnson was taken to court over a $13.5 million false advertising claim.

They were claiming that store brand formula was inferior to their Enfamil Lipid.

Well, the Perrigo store line didn't take too kindly to this claim of superiority by the high and mighty Enfamil. Perrigo claims that Enfamil's claims are false due to Enfamil and store brands having the same nutrient level.

THE SAME PEOPLE!

Do you know what that means?!

All the time I was buying the expensive name brand stuff, I so could have saved sooooooo much money on buying the cheap stuff!

As a first time Momma, you don't know any better and you only want what is best for your new baby. So, you figure the name brand formula that the hospital pushes at you (even though you're breastfeeding) is the best for your babycakes.

Now we know better. Of course, MY Hunter would look at me like I was crazy if I tried to give him formula now, but you definitely know I'll be doing things differently if THE hunter and I ever have another one!

So here's the scoop Enfamil, you can't go around spreading false advertising!

In The Presence of RHOK Stars!!!!

No thanks to Blogger (how I loathe thee), I haven't gotten to post any pics from the awesome RHOK Out that was Thursday night!

It was in Downtown Tulsa at the Mexican joint, El Guapo's. Yum.

After work I met up with the lovely Loren (do you know Loren? If not, you should) and we carpooled downtown togetha....because this girl don't do downtown alone.

(i stole this from the RHOK blog......don't tell!)

We got there at 7 (because the invite said 7) and the place was already packed with women! Apparently, everyone made a special quiet pact to all get there early! It's cool, it just meant that all the chairs were taken except for right up front, which means people take pictures like this and it shows my whole backside, right in the stinkin middle of the pic!

See the chick in the middle, with the white shirt, and the booty all stickin out? Yeah, that's me in all my glory!

However, it was muchas fun to get to meet all the fabulous RHOK ladies (and the DJ)!

There was one cool chicka that I was hoping was gonna be there, but unfortunately she couldn't make it up from the southerly direction :( no bueno

Anywho, we had a great time. Everyone who came won a door prize. Mine was a bottle of chardonnay called Mad Housewife! Appropriately titled for the occasion I think!

I heard after we left, a few of the housewives had a little jam session (which I am sooooo bummed that I missed out on), but I had a looooong drive back home.

Funny of the night: as Loren and I walk to the car, there is some dude sitting literally 3 inches from her front bumper. He sees us coming, but refuses to relocate to some other piece of sidewalk where there is less likelihood of getting his toes ran over. We get in the car and Loren rolls down her window and asks him very politely to shove off and he completely ignores her! Luckily (for him) he still has all his legs and toes. For all we know, he's still sitting on that same piece of sidewalk, with or without his appendages!

My Neck O' The Woods - Mother's Day

After a much too long leave of absence from the blogging world, I'm Back!!!!

There have been a lot of personal things going on the in the Hunting Household lately that have really eaten up a lot of my time, energy, and prayer.

Now that things are starting to resolve.......

In honor of the fact that I get to celebrate Momma's Day, I'm showing the wonderful reason why I get to be called "Momma"!!!!!Him....the man who thinks wearing Momma's flip flops on the wrong feet and not wearing any britches with his Nascar shirt is what life is all about!

Him, the guy that I sneak into his bedroom to take sleeping pictures of a night. Ok, I really don't sneak into his bedroom at night to photograph him sleeping......because Momma would rather be sleeping, but the breaker box is in his room and really, you only need the breaker box when it's night time and your precious Hurricane Boo Boo is sleeping soundly!

This brings us to the now annual Mother's Day Momma-Boo picture. Please don't judge me.
This one is this year's model and I had literally just woken up....and yes I still have flannel pillowcases on my pillows. It's softer, k!?

This one was last year's pic. Quite a difference a year makes in the appearance of a Hunter Grunter! And in a Momma too....I'm about 30 pounds lighter this year than last year!

And this last one of Boo with his new shoes....his first pair of summer shoes. Trying to put his new boo-shoed feet into THE hunter's stinky gym shoes. Let's just say, the little man doesn't need to wear socks and tennis shoes in the summer. Stinky stinky stinky! Honestly, that goes for the big man too. Ick!

I hope all you other Mommas out there had a wonderful day with your kids or at least talking with your kids on the phone!

Disappearing Amy

Hi friends!

I'm here to appologize to each and every single one of you. I am a horrible friend/ blogger.

I didn't mean to be away for so long.

I'm fired.

Not litterally. it's just what I tell the girls at work when they don't do what I want them to do....which means I just fired myself....hitting new lows here.

Anywho, there's been a whole lot of stuff goin on my personal life that was needing some major attention and prayer.

Blogging was not at the top of my priority list.

I know you all just gasped, but it's true.

Still love you though.
