Almost Done

I am all but done with the adorable baby quilt that I am making for a very good friend's friends' baby! (Did I say that right, because it sure looks funky?!) Anywho, I have named it "Butterflies for Makenzy." It's just the sweetest little quilt. I've just got half the label to finish sewing to the back and it's off to live in someone else's nursery! Now that I'm all but finished with this quilt, I'm looking for another project to move on to....hello, Christmas is coming! My husband as declared our home a "quilt-free zone" for at least a week or two before I become the "crazy quilt lady" at our house again. Hey, when the quilt's not perfect I can get a little cranky! Anywho, I've just bought some Ghastlies fabric from http://www.desperatequilters.com/. It's my favorite new online quilt store!

Isn't it fun! I got some other fabric to coordinate with it, too. I can't wait for it to get here!!! Poor, poor husband! Hehehehehe!!!!!! I'm sure he'll make the correlation between the witches on the fabric and, well, me, but hey, who isn't at one time or another?!

Bibble

Here is my latest realization: I am a horrible blogger. Horrible.... or "hori-bibble" as my mom would say. It's true. My blogging is shameful. No pictures. Haven't written a single word in many moons. Hori-bibble.

Fun new news though! I have started on a new quilt! It's the sweetest little girl baby quilt! A coworker who has become a wonderful friend, has a friend who is having a little girl baby in the very near future so she honored me by asking me to make her friend's babycakes a quilt! Yay! I will post pictures when the top is completed but in the meantime, just know it's purple and green and pink with butterflies and dragonflies all over! Just adora-bibble! Thing is: it's driving me to drink! (not really, but you know!) I can't get my squares to line up perfectly, and anyone who knows that my real name is Anal Amy knows how crazy this is making me! I've threatened to tear the whole thing apart and use the little squares as kindling for a fire.....but alas, it's been raining for days, so luckily for the quilt, it's still in one piece.....for now!

The horrible thing about making this quilt (other than the non-compliance of lines) is that I didn't have a table to sew at. My very sweet hubby tried to help by putting my machine on an end table and having me sew like that. Problem: I had to stand over the machine and bend over to use it. No good I tell you, no good. Wednesday, my wonderful parents bought me a new dining room table that is just so beautiful! No more sewing standing over my machine for me! Maybe it'll help my squares line up....wishful thinking!

I won!!!!

I won a $50 gift certificate from The Vintage Pearl in Tulsa!!!! She has the cutest jewelry! I ordered the dainty drops with Hunter's name and his September birthstone! Above is a picture off her website. The dainty drops are the middle picture. Aren't they cute! I'm so excited!!!!

Soggyness

It's raining. Again. Wanna know why? Beacuse I'm wearing white. Again. If anyone wants it to rain in Oklahoma, just give me a call and tell me to wear a white shirt, because, apparently, that's the key.

Not only is it raining, my son made me cry this morning. Why? Because I went into his room this morning to get him up out of bed and he had such a look of little man-ness that I just couldn't hold back the waterworks! He's not a baby anymore. My little snuggly 8 month old, is a little man, no doubt about it! He's almost walking and well, he's not little anymore! If anyone knows of a remedy to slow this growing thing down, call me!

So, I got the call that my sewing machine is ready to be picked up, after the hunder dollar bill is forked over, which gives me heart failure just thinking about it. BUT, I found a coupon from them in my email inbox for $20 off! Yay! Now, to get my heathen of a brother to hand over the cash before the coupon expires next weekend! Think it'll happen.......uh no. Food's not nearly as essential as my sewing machine, right?

Update on THE machine

So.........I have finally recieved the phone call that I've been waiting 4 weeks for: my sewing maching is done! I wish I was more excited, but, alas, I am not. Why you ask? Because it's gonna cost me $100 to get it out of hock! Actually, it'll cost my bro $100 to get it out of hock or I'm bringing out the waterworks. It just seems crazy to me that my $20 sewing machine find (that I never got to use) is now costing $100 to even start my first project on it!

On a much happier note: The Quilt Crazy quilt show is goin on this weekend at the Expo in Tulsa and I'm super, super excited about it! I can't wait to see all the beautiful quilts on display! I even know a few of the ladies who have entries! Must not forget to bring the camera to bring home a few ideas!

Nada

This is really just a post to say that I have nothing new to post. I'm still wallowing in my lack of sewing machine-ness. My brother must have really done a number of my poor machine for it to take this long! There had better not be any more boy hands touching my sewing machine once I finally have it back in my possesion! I would really like to be working on new projects, but alas, nada......someday.......
